Meme from cypsiman2's journal

  • Jun. 14th, 2009 at 12:13 PM

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions.
3. You post the answers & questions on your journal.
4. You include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else.
5. Add meme perpetuation line, etc.

1. What was the worst dub of an anime that you've ever seen?

Mind you I haven't seen the original Japanese of a lot of anime, but by far the worst official dub I've seen is One Piece. The difference is very striking.

2. How many times have you fallen in love?

Well the romantic sap in my wants to say I've lost count because I fall in love everytime I look into my girlfriend's eyes(She's reading this). and the analitical, numarically fact-based nerd says twice, Once with a childhood friend then with Melisaku, my current girlfriend

3. Favorite piece of music?

This changes day-to-day. Right now "Forces" by Susumu Hirasawa from Berserk: Warcry is being cued up alot.

4. What is your favorite part of Kataang?

So much cliche talking point potential....Aang and Katara both want to be better human beings because of each other

5. How do you feel about Obama now that we've had a chance to see him in action?

Grown-ups have the mic again. I will give Bush Credit for getting it together after he got rid of Donald Rumsfeld and stopped listening to Dick Cheney. Getting rid of Rummy was the first sign that Bush didn't want to be remembered for embracing desaster.

http://mediamatters.org/

I want to make it clear that I always want the media to investigate political corruption, no matter who's in power. Blago is a disgrace to his office, the people of Illinois, and yes, to the Democratic party.

The attempts to link him to our President-elect are, in a word, insane. The Attourny investigating(who did a steller job in busting Vice-president Cheney's chief of staff, "Scooter" Libby.) has stated that Obama and more than likely anyone his his team aren't involved. However guilt by association game goes on.

If you're involved in politics, the odds are overwhelmingly likely that you've done buisness with or even talked to someone that guilty of wrongdoing, This does not mean your actions are illicit and it doesn't mean you are guilty of any wrongdoing yourself.

I want corrupt public servants routed out, but I don't want honest ones punished because they knew a dirty one,. regardless of party.

See more Jack Black videos at Funny or Die

I had a dream about Jack Black as Jesus, and now it's come to pass. This means Rush Limbaugh is about a year away from becoming even more marginalized and irrelivent.

To all my civic minded American friends.

Please right to your Senators and congressman and ask them to oppose a bailout for the auto industry.

Instead of a bailout for failing domestic companies, ask them to offer incentives to sucessful companies both forign and domestic to aide in retooling the failing domestic industries.

Helping hands, not handouts.

What kind of Liberal/conservative are you?

  • Nov. 17th, 2008 at 10:47 PM

How to Win a Fight With a Conservative is the ultimate survival guide for political arguments

My Liberal Identity:

You are a New Left Hipster, also known as a MoveOn.org liberal, a Netroots activist, or a Daily Show fanatic. You believe that if we really want to defend American values, conservatives must be exposed, mocked, and assailed for every fanatical, puritanical, warmongering, Constitution-shredding ideal for which they stand.

Take the test yourself here.
http://www.fightconservatives.com/Inside-the-Book/What-Breed-of-Liberal-Are-You.html

And even though I consider myself more of a leftie, I took the conservative test too.

How to Win a Fight With a Liberal is the ultimate survival guide for political arguments

My Conservative Identity:

You are an Anti-government Gunslinger, also known as a libertarian conservative. You believe in smaller government, states’ rights, gun rights, and that, as Reagan once said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”

Take the quiz at www.FightLiberals.com

http://www.fightliberals.com/Inside-the-Book/What-Breed-of-Conservative-Are-You.html

Take these tests for what they are, but I'm a proud New-left hipster Gunslinger!

So, I finally get what Raegen was saying...

  • Nov. 13th, 2008 at 4:17 PM

In his inaugural  adress, Ronald Ragen made the statement "Government is the answer to your problems, Government is the problem."

Well here's the rub, the American Government is a Government of the people, by the people, and for the people. So in my opinion, Ronald Raegen was saying that the American people were the problem.

This also explains why social conservitives align with the party of "small government". Nothing offends a social conservitive more than a diverse, expressive, multi-cultural society. It upsets the social order they crave so much.

Also, if there's still any doubt among any of my friends that the Republican party doesn't use racial and wedge issue politics to win elections, I present to you an excript from Boogey Man: The Story of Lee Atwater.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4V4nb6OTG0

Lee Atwater was a political operative for every republican president from Nixon to Bush Sr.

The stratagy was simple, stroke the ego of non-affluant southern, rural white voters with racial and regional resentment amd fear.

So, with the hypocracy of certain religious institutions donating millions to prop 8 and similar props across the country aside, Nate Silver at fivethirtyeight.com has a more valid explanation for bans on gay marrage than blaming any one group.
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2008/11/prop-8-myths.html

In other words, haters that generate manufatcured outrage over stupid wedge issues won't be around much longer and we can start figuring out real solutions to real problems.

To Lee Atwater and Karl Rove, I say you deserve a sharp one-fingered sulute for trying so hard for so long to grind this country to a halt for so long.

So, the greatest part of prop 8's hyporacy came to light.

The economy is in recession, jobs are being lost and shipped over seas, people are losing their homes, and the Mormon Church spends 30 million dollors to take right away from homosexuals.

Nice Christ-like priorities there Mormon Church.

The GOP explained by a moderate republican.

He explans it better than any tax and spend liberal like me ever could.

From now on, I officially start labling republicans and spend and borrow conservitives.

Ok, angry outburst done. *enters zen moment*

More exit polls later, these things are like crack.

I voted today bright and early at 7 AM

  • Nov. 4th, 2008 at 8:58 AM

I voted for Barack Obama-no brainer from me.

I voted no on prop 8- One thing Junglefowl and I can agree on, This amendment is an attempt to discriminate against homosexuals, and a blatent attempt to subvert the judiciary.

I voted Jeff Morris for my district rep in the US Congress. Wally Herger is a complete tool, and Jeff has a great bredth of knowledge of our districts concerns and issues.  I hope he beats herger and represents California's second district well.

It's in two days.

GO VOTE!! TAKE AS MANY FRIENDS AS YOU CAN!
To all my friends under 18, convince your older friends to vote.

To Junglefowl, Even though we have different views, I still respect your differing viewpoints, and always enjoy debating and dueling ideas.

*cough* Hey Shizuma...

From "thoughtful centrist" to "way too liberal" and "dangerous socialist." Never has massive fail been so monumental and so concentraited in a single human being.

Also, the most liberal senator title goes to Russ Feingold of Wisconson.

Ok, I've expunged my rage at McCain's latest hypocracy.

Loved him in 2000, total dorknozzle now.

Why is this so familiar?

  • Oct. 29th, 2008 at 2:15 PM

McCain is trying ot paint Obama as a radical socialist who want to spread wealth....where have I heard a republican trying to paint a democrat as a dangerous leftist radical....?

OH YEAH!

The Goldwaters are endorsing Barack Obama for President.

Shizuma, Arizona just became a battleground State.

Karheem Kahn 1987-2007

More important than Powell's endorsement of Obama today is the story of Karheem Kahn. Personally I think it's the most moving and poinient story of the day.

This Muslim boy put on the uniform of the United States Military and died for this country, his country.

EDIT: A compalation of Powell's Rational compared to video evidence.

Today was a good day, not for democrats, but for sanity returning to American discourse.

http://community.livejournal.com/obama_2008/2202052.html?#cutid1

So when it's for banks and big businesses, it's a bailout, but when the middle class get a tax cut, it's wellfare?

A republican president socializes the nation's largest banks and a democrat is a socialist?

It seems the Republican Party enjoys class warfare.

In all fairness I completely understand the need for conservitive voices in government, but how can anyone call the Republican party in it's current incarnation "Conservitive"?

To the Editor:

Fair taxation isn’t about “redistributing the wealth” — it’s about giving back to the great country that gave you the opportunity to benefit so greatly.

It’s not about taking money from “Joe the Plumber.” It’s about making sure that “Joe’s Mega-Plumbing Incorporated” gives back to the country and the people who gave him:

¶Roads and bridges for his trucks to roll on.

¶Support for research for his latest plumbing equipment.

¶Public education so he can have a well-trained work force.

¶Markets so he can raise capital.

¶Police and firefighters so his business is protected.

¶Health care so the employees who helped him build his business can stay on the job.

¶Freedom so that he can build his business creatively.

If “Joe” has been able to become wealthy because of the bounty of America, then he should pay his fair share back to America — that is patriotic.

Daryl Altman

Lynbrook, N.Y., Oct. 16, 2008

I know not everyone is going to see it this way, but this is a fairly good case for Obama's tax plan.
